The story of The Misfits was born straight out of the hearts of this mother-daughter duo VinitaJi and Aditi, who are not just committed to creating healthy and nutritious foods but are passionate about tackling food waste, reducing the carbon footprint and fighting hunger. In the process they also aim to empower women and improve the lives of farmers and agriculture-dependent communities by providing a socio-economic support where everyone can lead the way towards a waste-free, healthy and prosperous future.
Armed with a compassionate soul and unwavering determination, Aditi embarked on a successful career in finance that took her across the globe. However, nothing could take her away from her first love, food. She kept relishing different cuisines while juggling with numbers all along. Her worldwide journey brought her close to the global issue of food waste and its connection with global warming. In her travel through India, she observed that our own country was grappling with the same issue.
Aditi went into an emergency huddle with her mother VinitaJi. A blueprint was created and The Misfits was born.
VinitaJi has a lasting impression on Aditi and it goes well beyond the culinary expertise she proudly possesses. While passing on the secrets of some great Rajasthani recipes, VinitaJi made sure Aditi imbibed the Indian tradition of respecting food and ensuring zero wastage. Having the highest regard for the food-producing farmers, better known as the 'Annadaataa', was rooted deep in her heart and soul. VinitaJi and the desert State of Rajasthan made Aditi value natural resources like water, soil and food right from her formative years.
